WebThe Colorado Road and Community Safety Act passed by the Colorado legislature in 2013 allows all Coloradans to obtain a non-REAL ID compliant driver license, regardless of The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced that, effective May 7, 2025, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will no longer accept drivers licenses that are not compliant with the REAL ID Act (see below) as proof of identification to board commercial aircraft. These purposes are: Federal agencies, including DHS and TSA, may only accept state-issued drivers licenses and identification cards as identification for purposes of accessing federal facilities - including TSA airport security checkpoints - if the license or card was issued by a REAL ID compliant state in accordance with the REAL ID security standards (meaning the license or card must include the REAL ID compliant star marking). These include EADs that bear a Card Expires date that has passed, or one that has a future expiration date on its face.
